Dosa

Dosa ("hatred") is one of the three fundamental driving factors of existence, also known as the unwholesome roots.

Whenever there is the desire for something to cease or something to go away, this desire has its root in hatred. Conditioning makes living beings react to hatred without reflecting upon it, thereby ultimately causing suffering.

Much hatred is caused by a culture that values assertiveness, competition, and a winner-takes-all attitude. By understanding dosa, these values can be reexamined, and many of them may turn out to be part of the problem rather than the solution.
