Samādhi

Samādhi ("concentration") is the ability of mind to focus on a single object (or "single-point") without being distracted. It is typically associated with a high degree of tranquility, because an agitated mind cannot be very focused.

Samādhi is a prerequisite for the development of proper understanding of reality (paññā). It is developed by the means of bhāvanā.
